:: 12.15.03 FUJITA FOCUSED 100% ON INOKI BOM-BA-YE ::
Kazuyuki Fujita and his trainer Marco Ruas had their sparring session in
front of Antonio Inoki at INOKI DOJO. Fujita started off with light
striking combinations and went over his ground submissions which he
specializes in. His trainer Marco Ruas has pure confidence in
Fujita's victory over any fighter because of Fujita's condition and his
new variations of techniques. After showing progress through his
sparring, Fujita had a chance to exchange words with his master Inoki.

Inoki: Next year, you should move on to fighting against the world.
Fujita: Yes, I'd like to fight outside of Japan and compete against
strong opponents.
Q: You've rejected the offer from K-1, and you are now focused on INOKI
BOM-BA-YE only?
Fujita: I have my own goals, and at this point of my career, I want
to move on to bigger things. Fighting in K-1 is great, but I want
somebody that really represents Mr. K-1. I had my eyes on Peter Aerts
or Ernesto Hoost, special guys who I have to go into K-1 ring to fight.
Not a debuting amateur wrestler, that's called bullying. I'm gonna
hurt him, and he'll sue me... I was just disappointed by their (K-1's)
offer this time, but I really do want to fight anybody who has name
value and is considered strong by the world.
Inoki: "To be crazy" is the subtitle of this INOKI BOM-BA-YE festival.
I'd like to have my men to all have pride in what they do, and there's
so many offers from many fighters. The focal point has some how
shifted, and I'm becoming the target of other promotions, but my theme
hasn't changed. My one and only goal for this festival is to beat
NHK's Red & White music battle tv program with my fighting-arts program.
To say the truth, I don't care about the Red & White music program, but
it's always good to have one clear goal, one clear enemy so the team
can stay on track.
Q: Mr. Fujita, there's Mirko vs Takayama, are you expecting your fight
to be bigger than their fight?
Fujita: It's not winning over Takayama & Mirko, but I'd like to know
who's going to be my opponent very soon... I'll leave it up to Inoki
Office, but they promised me to get a great opponent. I'm going to look
forward to my fight.
Q: Kensuke Sasaki's name came up earlier, but now he's on the card for
1.4.2004 Tokyo Dome Event against Nagata.
Inoki: He's out of job, everyone has to eat. I hope he has pride in
pro wrestling and a true original vision of life. NJPW also has to
watch out because if one step goes wrong, the company image may drop.
Q: Shinsuke Nakamura is going to fight in K-1.
Inoki: We should be thankful with that offer, but it just proves that
everybody needs good fighters who are known and can put up a fight.
There was a idea of him (Nakamura) going up against Fedor Emelianenko, and
that probably would have been a shocking news for the fans who will
raise the tension for INOKI BOM-BA-YE. Well, this is the promoters vision,
I'm not the fighter, but I'm here to shock the world.
Q: You also have to worry not only about the 31st BOM-BA-YE but about
1.4 Tokyo Dome.
Inoki: For both INOKI BOM-BA-YE and NJPW 1.4 Tokyo Dome, the sales of
the tickets will go up when we show all of what we've got and break
rules. This applies to the Japanese economy right now too, but even
when they say "We got nothing left," Japanese always has some type of a
savings. When you go to other countries, it's different. People live
on the real edge. When you're really on the borderline, you have to
show everything to survive, and by showing everything, the third
person's interest level goes up. If you apply this to our situation,
we have to show everything to the fans, and needless to say, the media
coverage and ticket sales will go up.
