A lifetime disciple of Antonio Inoki. Finished
junior high school and joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling
at the age of fifteen, with the desire to follow in
Inoki's footsteps. The pioneer of junior heavyweights
in Japan, came back to Japan after winning the WWWF
Junior Heavyweight Title at The Madison Square Garden.
The first wrestler ever to use The Dragon Suplex.
Defended his IWGP Heavyweight Title against his
childhood idol and mentor Antonio Inoki in a dramatic
60 minute draw, a match still considered by many to be
one of the greatest in the history of NJPW. Has one a
G1 Climax Tournament, has held the IWGP numerous
times, the NWA Heavyweight and others. Is now the
president of NJPW, also is the head of MUGA, an
organization that dedicates itself to catch style
wrestling. Nishimura is his disciple. A household name
in Japan. Is close to retirement, but age doesn't seem
to have anything to do with the spirit of The Dragon.
