Iizuka has spent the most of his career with very
high expectations put on him by NJPW. Went to Russia
early on in his career and studied Sambo, the martial
art involving the use of deadly submission holds in
the former U.S.S.R. During the New Japan vs. U.F.O.
incident, Iizuka played a major role, not only
instigating a feud between him and Murakami, but by putting and
end to it by choking him out with a sleeper hold in a
long awaited singles match at the Tokyo Dome. One of
the guys that took part in putting Murakami in a
hospital after the brawl. For real. Has been an
IWGP Tag Title holder, but never has been a
singles champion. Trains Young Lions at the New Japan
Dojo. An important piece to the New Japan puzzle. He's
been around a while. |
