Naruse was already an established professional
fighter before he came to NJPW. Was a disciple of
Akira Maeda, the former disciple of Antonio Inoki.
Naruse originally joined RINGS, a federation leaning
more towards an international competition like form of
mixed martial arts than a New Japan type of strong
style wrestlimg. After RINGS collapsed in 2001 due
to financial shortcomings, Naruse came to NJPW. the
federation that gave birth to his master, Akira Maeda.
Became a middleweight champion at RINGS. Because of his
credential prior to coming to NJPW, prepares and
trains with New Japan wrestlers that compete in mixed
martial arts competitions such as PRIDE. Is a junior
heavyweight in NJPW, has challenged for the IWGP
Junior Heavyweight belt and became the 40th IWGP
Jr. Heavy champ. |
